Prefabricated panels are a new structural element for the Greek area, with huge potential for application in most building projects. By using prefabricated panels in metal or conventional construction, the manufacturer automatically avoids molding, plastering, and first ironing (reinforcement) and saves time, quality, economy, and safety.
The industrially produced prefabricated panels, according to DIN, only need temporary support and after additional reinforcements are placed on site, concreting is carried out immediately.
The final thickness of the panel is according to the static study (for standard structures from 20-25 cm) while the thickness of the prefabricated slab is 5-7 cm with the main reinforcement integrated in its body.
The final surface of the roof of structures incorporating prefabricated panels does not need plastering because it is perfectly smooth and ready for painting.
Prefabricated panels have been widely used for decades abroad in both residential and high-rise buildings, bridges, and shopping centers.
When the additional reinforcements are placed, concreting proceeds immediately in a comparatively short time.
The protruding mesh and the rough upper surface of the prefabricated slab ensure absolute cooperation of the on-site concrete with the prefabricated slab.
Uses of the prefabricated panels:
Prefabricated Panels for Solid Slab - Houses, apartments, hotels, hospitals, schools, etc. The application of the prefabricated panel on a metal structure or reinforced concrete beams requires only a temporary support every 1.5-2.0m. The reinforcement of the prefabricated panel is defined according to the static design of the slab. The bottom surface is completely smooth, ready for painting.
Prefabricated panel with Polystyrene for Sandwich Slab - Multiplexes, hotels, etc. For lightweight construction of prefabricated panel without beams, the prefabricated panel is delivered with polystyrene fixed to the upper surface. A temporary support is needed every 2.0-2.5m and then the necessary reinforcements are placed and concreting is done.
Prefabricated Panel for Retaining Walls & Port Projects - The prefabricated panel can be placed vertically and can be used as a retaining wall or to create a harbor block. In both cases, the refabricated panels function as a permanent formwork with reinforcement, are tied internally with tractors (girders) and then, depending on the structural design, reinforcement is added on site or concrete is poured.
